Free Info on Electrical and Mechanical Design for Auto-Cad with Free Blocks and Symbols.
Please understand these are free symbols i have created using Auto-Cad they are drawn based on the current ISO standards.
The term standard symbol in Electrical and Mechanical design drawings is a somewhat ambiguous one. Area to area and company to company even amongst members of the same institution they will use different symbols for the same thing.
The key thing to remember is to make them easy to see on the plans and and clear to understand. and always include a LEGEND for the symbols.
Using blocks for symbols in Auto-Cad makes life a lot easier for you in many ways, the simplest of which I often use is block-count a simple command just select the block right click and then select similar this will select all the sockets, light type A, TRV valve etc. then use block-count and there is the number of them on your drawing for you.
I will upload more on the page for cad blocks as time allows .
if there are any specific requirements i will do my best to put any requested symbol types up but i have to draw them so it can take time.
